"I adopted this recipe from the RecipeZaar account. These are the original chef's notes: "This recipe is much lighter in butter and very flavourful due to the preferment process.""
"Perfect for lazy, weekend breakfasts. Sackville Girl made a sub and used raspberries and, well, you can see the great results in the picture! I must have really big muffin tins (or maybe they're bigger in Europe?) cause I get a dozen over-sized muffins with this recipe."
"If you prefer extra spicy add in 1-2 teaspoons dryed chili flakes when cooking the ground beef."
"You can change this up a bit by adding crumbled, cooked bacon, or ham, or cooked spinach at the bottom of the ramekins."
"A simple old fashioned pancake recipe. Good with syrup."
"This beautiful cake looks just like a gourmet pastry chef made it! It tastes yummy too, of course."
"My adaptation of Huey's Italian version of the classic "hot" dog. Huey (Iain Hewitson) is a larger than life Melbourne restaurateur and chef who also features on his own extremely popular TV show. I have posted several of his recipes on Zaar."
"This wonderful recipe is from The Cheese Lover's Cookbook and Guide by Paula Lambert, adapted slightly cause I want MORE of everything. These scones also freeze beautifully (fully-baked). I individually wrap in double-foil and then breakfast is ready for me when I don't have time to make it."
"Recipe courtesy of Sara Moulton and Cooking Channel. This quiche gets its Southwestern flair from Monterey jack cheese and canned chiles. But if you have a little more time, you should lose the canned chiles and make it instead with roasted fresh poblanos, which are even more delicious. I like the contrasting crunch of Triscuits, but just about any cracker would do. Then again, you could make this quiche without a crust and save a bunch of time. Just put it in an oiled pie plate and bake it. Original recipe:
"Inspired by a dish I enjoy at a restaurant. You can add or substitute other veggies you have around, or toss in some cooked crumbled bacon or sausage, etc."
"This is a super tasty steak dinner! Throw some medium or large shrimp in with the onion mixture for a surf and turf meal. Prep time does not include marinade time."
"I am fortunate to work at a place where the manager of the cafeteria is a Moroccan native. Our mutual love of food has resulted in endless exchange of recipes, spices and samplings. (Indeed, some of the items now served in the cafeteria are recipes from this site.) One one occasion, I was lucky enough to be able to share in the lunch he prepared for the staff. I love eggs and his were just amazing. This recipe from World Vegetarian seems like a close approximate - though I know his version included a generous bit of cumin and cilantro. I'm posting the original here and will begin to tinker. Once perfected, I'll post that version as a second recipe. Will experiment to see if this works as well with canned tomatoes."
"Transform sliced banana bread into a French toast bake using a sheet pan! Then drizzle it with a cream cheese glaze for a decadent, extra-sweet touch."
"This is quite popular in eli's and has become a favorite of ours. When we want a light dinner this is what I serve. We love it with the additional sweetness of the red bell pepper. I prefer using Nova Lox as opposed to Belly Lox which is saltier. Cooking time is approximate, depending on how you prefer your eggs cooked."
"We love Ihops stuffed french toast so much we decided to try to come up with one ourselves. This is really delicious."
